Salzburg to Vienna

Hello all! Gather round the digital fire for a special edition of the blog with your pal Ben.  Today Mother awoke us early so we could have our breakfast before taking the train from Salzburg to Vienna. It was about a 2 hour journey through what I'm sure was lovely countryside. I'm not really sure since I napped through most of it. We arrived in Vienna just before lunch and had a harrowing cab experience before dropping off our luggage at the hotel. We dined near the cathedral down the street at a lovely business cafe. Enjoying the beautiful 75 degree weather, we strolled down by the river to meet up for our bike tour. We went all around; we saw this huge park(2x the size of central park), the first building done by this famous architect, the square with all the museums, and the parliament building.  However, throughout the duration of our tour the dark clouds looming in distance came closer and closer with the wind picking up as well. By the time we passed the parliament building it was an all out sprint back to the tour building since the wind and pouring rain chilled and soaked us. We really have gotten to experience all the weather extremes on this trip- it was 100° on just Sunday night! We made it back to our hotel, thoroughly drenched, and we chilled for a couple of ours before heading off for dinner. The restaurant was definitely a hip kid's place with a DJ pumping and a bunch of cool/strange modern fixtures. Twas a lovely day.

    1. Yes, the pants are getting a little snug and we're not even in France yet.
