First day in Amsterdam was a great one in spite of the heat. Wednesday wass the hottest day ever recorded here. After finding our house, we headed over to the Van Gogh museum. Loved it! Ben had his first piece of apple pie at the cafe in the museum and said the dutch know how to do apple pie. Then we did a boat tour of the canals and went out for Indonesian food at a restaurant called Blauw. We ordered what they call a rice table where they bring you rice and then about 19 dishes to try. It was really nice to have something besides meat and potatoes. We didn't make it back to our house till after 11:00. Looking forward to tomorrow when Don is able to join us.
